Emotional Response Model

Digital Communication

Digital Communication Defines Data
The World Wide Web offers various communication paths linking and engaging local or global connections using various online or mobile tool devices.  Online users input the data, and the computer processes the data direction forming user information.

Data input and computer output describe a data processing system and the physical skills between the user and the computer.  For example, a user types on a keyboard inputting data into the computer. The computer processes the data displaying a data result.

Digital Communication defines User Information
A user internally processes the data and forms a meaning defining information. Information is a meaningful association between the data and the user (Morley, 2011).  The user interaction and the computer's systematic processes involve a user’s input, a computer internal input and output processing systems, and a user’s internal cognitive processes define information.

Digital Communication Stimulates Cognition
The user’s information or meaningful associations cause other internal cognitive stimulus engaging short-term or long-term memories resulting in various psychological constructs or human behaviors. Semantic web technology and augmented reality immediately stimulate the user to interact with the environment, online social connections, post, and mental or physical behavior or emotional changes.

Situation

Appraisal

A consensual component model of emotional responding (Mauss & Robinson, 2009).

The model suggests the situation is the stimulus; an appraisal is a measurement, and emotional response or state is a measurable response system.  The emotional response measures dimensional or discrete emotional states.
